Mgr Food Service

General Summary
Reporting through a matrix relationship to the Senior Director of Nutrition Services and site Administrator responsible for Nutrition Services, this role is responsible for the delivery of Nutrition Services at assigned site. For sites where a Director is present, this role is responsible for assigned areas within the Nutrition Services department. Participates in development of site plans to support strategic plans and goals for Nutrition Services. Takes lead role in implementing plans at assigned site or in assigned areas. Collects data to measure key success metrics. Manages results and ensures positive site relations.
Essential Duties
Provides direction and oversight for Nutrition Services department or assigned areas within the department.
Accountable for service and quality improvement results (Press Ganey/HCAHPS).
Participates in the measurement of key success metrics. Monitors metrics and results. Ensures that department performance expectations are met.
Participates in the formulation of department business plans.
Participates in the development of strategic long and short-term goals and plans for assigned site, in support of strategic goals.
Provides oversight for standards and philosophies for the department.
Develops or provides input into annual site budget. Manages assigned resources within the annual department budget. Reviews and monitors financial results.
Interviews, hires, orients, coaches and develops staff members. Assigns duties and responsibilities, evaluates performance, provides feedback and takes corrective action as needed.
Complies with local, state and federal laws and regulations that pertain to the operation of Nutrition Services.
Maintains current knowledge of business operations and management techniques.
Models the behaviors embodied in the mission of Beaumont.
Participates on various hospital committees.
Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment.
Uses tools and equipment appropriately.
Standard Qualifications
Associates Degree required. Bachelor preferred.
3-5 years of nutrition services management experience with demonstrated strength in relationship management, process management and people management skills.
Experience working with unions preferred.
ServSafe Certification required
Registered Dietetic Technician with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or Certified Dietary Manager preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required in order to communicate with vendors, guests, hospital staff, management, co-workers and all other persons associated directly or indirectly with assigned site.
This job requires autonomous decision making. Assignments are received in the form of direction from Senior Director/Director and results expected, due dates and general procedures to be followed.
Demonstrate proficiency in current Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with the capability to master company and department specific software and databases and other business software.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
