Ultrasonographer Sr

Job Summary:
Under general direction, performs procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Provides patient care, performs duties in an organized manner and exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Evaluates images to maintain a high degree of image quality. Maintains records for compliance with quality control/assurance activities. Assumes responsibility for designated area and clinical instruction as appropriate.
Primary Job Duties:
The following description of job responsibilities and standards are intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities assigned from time to time.
1. Leads and assigns the daily work schedules of sonographers and patient throughput.
2. Assists site leadership in developing protocols to enhance performance within department.
3. Leads operations of the service to ensure quality care is maintained.
4. Provides high quality scans to Radiologist and communications across disciplines.
5. Oversees safety within department of hospital staff and patients.
6. Maintains departmental scanning protocols, ensures compliance and completion of department yearly renewal documents and maintains department in a state of JCAHO readiness.
7. Reviews images by staff/students and provides clinical instruction for improvement as needed.
8. Perform duties as a Staff Sonographer.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma and Graduate of Accredited Diagnostic
Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
Experience: 3 years experience as a registered staff sonographer.
Licensure: Registered by ARDMS or ARRT in a minimum of 2 ultrasound specialties.
Skills & Abilities: Effective problem solving skills; possess strong interpersonal/technical skills, proven leadership skills, demonstrates ability to use authority and sound judgment as situations dictate. Demonstrates proficiency with PAC (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and all other applicable computer systems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
