Supv Gift Shop

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the retail operations and day-to-day activities of a hospital based gift shop. Provides supervision of paid staff and volunteers. Ensures implementation of appropriate merchandising strategies, timely pricing of inventory, and development of effective product displays to enhance sales. Responsible for efficient cash management process, recording daily sales, and accounting procedures.
Primary Job Duties:
Supports Manager, Gift Shop in identifying and implementing goals and objectives that will enhance gift shop revenues.
Supports the buying practices to ensure adequate merchandise levels. Develops promotional concepts during seasonal changes, holidays and special sales events.
Responsible for training and orientation for paid staff and volunteer support.
Assists with the establishment of operational and sales goals and communicates them to staff and volunteers to ensure focus on a sales driven environment.
Supervises paid staff and volunteer support on above initiatives to increase profitability margins.
Implements assessments and surveys to better meet the unique merchandise needs of the gift shop customer.
Assists with monitoring the budget and meeting budget requirements while maintaining accurate reports and documents.
Facilitates the payroll deduction process, registration of new employees, appropriate paperwork, and serves as a liaison with payroll department.
Responsible for comprehensive scheduling practices. Works with paid staff and volunteers to insure adequate coverage is maintained daily.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: Associates Degree in Business or equivalent of 4 years retail management experience.
Experience: 4 years of retail operations, management, and merchandising experience required. Experience working with volunteers preferred.
Licensure: None
Skills & Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills, positive attitude. Detailed and able to manage the stress of multiple tasks and multiple personalities in a fast paced environment. Proven success in managing, training and working with people on all levels.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
